How to Generate a New Image from a Photograph

This is a demonstration of a way that FooocusPlus can turn a photograph into an image with a different style. To achieve this, we use the Image Prompt input option with the PyraCanny Controlnet. These the settings were used for this example:

  • Image Prompt: PyraCanny (default settings)
  • Preset: AnimaPencil (default settings)
  • Prompt: man, dog
  • Styles: Fooocus V2, Fooocus Semi Realistic, Fooocus Masterpiece (defaults), SAI Digital Art, Artstyle Abstract
  • Steps: Quality (60 steps)

Notes

  • Increasing the Stop At PyraCanny setting would preserve more of the original image structure. By default, PyraCanny stops influencing the structure of the generated image at 0.5, half way through generation.
  • PyraCanny converts the source image to a simple line drawing. Preserving colors would require adding to the text prompts, e.g. "dog" -> "cute black and white dog"
  • AnimaPencil is an anime-style checkpoint and exerts a strong influence over the generated style. Selecting other checkpoints and adding style LoRAs would result in differences in the generated images.
