Hi, for project week, I've made a new command called
mdk protocolwith the aim of swapping between http and https from the command line. This is done using localhost.run as the https provider and updating the config.php to look at the new URL.Some examples are:
mdk protocol https- runs localhost.run to get a public url and updates the config.php of the moodle instance this is run frommdk protocol http- looks through .mdk_protocol_tunnel for any open tunnels and closes them, then updates config.php with http:/// where host is defined in the mdk configmdk protocol toggle stable_500- if currently using https, swap to http and vice versa on the moodle instance 'stable_500'Although it's pretty quick to do it manually, I thought this could be useful, especially during QA when devs have to repeatedly swap between the 2 for different tests.
I made this compatible with python v3.6 onwards.
