Hi there, I'm Fer! 👋

I'm a PhD Student in Psychology based in Argentina. I conduct my research at the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience (CNC-UdeSA) with a doctoral fellowship from CONICET.

🔭 Current Research & Work

  • PhD Project: I am studying Rank Reversal Aversion.

RRA describes the social preference to avoid redistributions that invert pre-established hierarchies between individuals (i.e., making the "richer" person become the "poorer" one), even when such redistribution would reduce overall inequality.

  • Teaching: Lecturer at Universidad de San Andrés (UdeSA) for Behavior Modification & Analysis and Cognitive Processes across the Lifespan.

🔎 Interests

  • Open Science & Metascience. Early in my PhD, I became interested in the Open Science movement. Since then, I have gradually incorporated open practices and trained in reproducible research standards. This led me to develop an interest in metascience, particularly regarding how we conduct and think about science in Psychology (and Behavioral Sciences in general). This motivated me to strengthen my statistical background, particularly in Causal Inference. While nowhere near an expert, I am actively pursuing to better comprehend and apply statistical methods to my research.

☕ To further this continuous learning, I am starting the ReproducibiliTEA Buenos Aires Journal Club to discuss open and reproducible science with colleagues.

  • Data Science. Throughout my academic training, I discovered various Data Science tools that proved highly useful for my research workflow. This sparked a strong interest in the field and its application to behavioral sciences. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Data Science at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) as complementary training to my PhD, aiming to integrate these methods into my work.

  • Big Team Science. My journey into Open Science led me to connect with initiatives aimed at promoting these practices, such as FORRT (Framework for Open and Reproducible Research Training), SIPS (Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science), and the PSA (Psychological Science Accelerator). I see immense value in Big Team Science projects for improving the quality and generalizability of research in Psychology, and I actively seek to collaborate in such endeavors.
