Creating New Disk

- Atari Computer (If you have an Atari 400 or 800, the BASIC cartridge as well.)
- #FujiNet
- micro SD card in slot
- completed Testing Local SD Card Storage
- Power on Fujinet
- Power on Atari
- Boot into CONFIG
- Select SD
- Select Atari DOS folder.
- Select Atari DOS 2.0s.atr
- Mount to Device Slot 1 (D1)
- Mount as R/O. DEVICES/SLOTS should re-appear.
- Press D to select device slots.
- Use arrow keys to select device slot 2
- Press N.
- For the name, enter test.atr
- For Host Slot, press 1 (which is currently defined as SD)
- For disk type, press 1 for 90K (single density).
- Are you sure? Y
- Ensure that test.atr is now visible in device slot 2. It is mounted READ/WRITE.
- Press OPTION to boot. If using XL/XE system, keep option held down until DOS appears.
- Let DOS boot.
- At DOS menu, press I, followed by RETURN
- DRIVE TO FORMAT? 2 RETURN
- for, Y TO FORMAT DISK 2, press Y RETURN
- Wait for SELECT ITEM. No ERROR should appear.
- PRESS A RETURN
- FILE SPEC? RETURN
- Ensure 707 FREE SECTORS
- Press H RETURN
- DRIVE TO WRITE DOS FILES TO? 2 RETURN Wait for operation to complete. No error should occur.
- PRESS A RETURN
- FILE SPEC? RETURN
- Ensure 626 FREE SECTORS, DOS.SYS 037, DUP.SYS 042
- To quickly test the result, Press the Drive Swap button (left-most button of the two buttons on left)
- Ensure Blue LED flashes momentarily, indicating disk swap.
- Press M RETURN
- RUN AT ADDRESS? E477 RETURN .. the system should cold start.
- If running in XL/XE you will probably see BASIC after boot, type DOS to get to DOS.
- DOS menu should appear.
- Test done, power off.
- New 90K disk called TEST.ATR on local storage, containing Atari DOS 2.0S, that boots.
