duplicated sequence in main view

I've been wondering for a while about the logic of showing the 6 frames of the sequence when one zooms into the Annotation track. It essentially duplicates information that is already visible, if Reference sequence is loaded, and therefore wastes screenspace

The way the JBrowse "Reference sequence" track works, we aren't able to do things like add highlighting to the reading frame when hovering over a feature. The JBrowse track can also do things like show GC content, which the Apollo 6-frame sequence display doesn't do. See examples of both here:

I have thought, though, that perhaps the Apollo 6-frame sequence display should be available as a separate track.

Maybe we just need to be more explicit so that users see the following track options

• Reference sequence
• Annotations and sequence

That way, they won't load the Reference track unless they really need it (for GC content, etc)

Re: the six-frame view as a separate track, my preference would be to toggle between views rather than adding more tracks, but I assume it's simpler to implement as a different track? We should get some user-testing feedback on this.
