"Every morning in Africa when the sun rises, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it will have to run more than the lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in Africa when the sun rises a lion wakes up and knows it will have to run more than the gazelle or it will starve.
Every morning in Africa it does not matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, what matters is that you start running."
SteelPipe is a game set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, where people can control robots and other agents with their bodies. You have to escape, running across the finish line and beating your enemies, which can be controlled by the evil Cyber Patrol Union (CPU)... or by or by those you considered your best friends.
We used Unity as game engine, employing the Mediapipe plugin for integrating pose landmark detection within the application. Users can move the player by repeatedly moving up and down their arms... Similarly as you would doto beat someone with a steel pipe.
Singleplayer and multiplayer (2-player competitive) are supported. A couple of information regarding multiplayer:
- A "strong" PC is recommended, in order to keep track of two different skeletons
- The first player is the one that appears on the left side of the webcam, the second player is the one on the right side
