This repository hosts all code, tables, and database information for the manuscript titled, "Diverse Cyanopeptides Follow Distinct Temporal Succession Patterns in Lake Erie Harmful Algal Blooms" by Hart et al. 2025.
This manuscript analyzes the temporal patterns of Microcystis and Dolichospermum biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) and their associated metabolites throughout seven years (2016-2022) of metagenomics and metabolomics data collected from western Lake Erie. Additionally, analysis of these patterns and their relationships with other physicochemical parameters reveals new hypotheses about the controls on cyanotoxin and cyanopeptide synthesis in a large eutrophic basin.
