Reverts #246. The z-index diff in #245 was the user's live-tested fix on top of f6b2aef: the layering-contract approach in #243 rendered overlapping text transparent and broke hover z-ordering. The apparent breakage that motivated #246 was the dev server briefly serving #243's file state during branch switches, not #245 itself. develop's TextBoxes.svelte now matches the verified-good state exactly (zero diff).
