## Installation for Development

To contribute to this project or build buildpacks locally, you'll need to install the following dependencies:

* [Bazel](https://docs.bazel.build/install.html) - Build system
* [Docker](https://store.docker.com/search?type=edition&offering=community) - Container runtime
* [pack](https://buildpacks.io/docs/install-pack/) - Cloud Native Buildpacks CLI
* [container-structure-test](https://github.com/GoogleContainerTools/container-structure-test#installation) - Container testing tool

**Note:** `docker`, `pack`, and `container-structure-test` must be on `$PATH` as interpreted by Bazel.

### Verifying Installation

Run the following command to verify all dependencies are installed correctly:

```bash
bazel test --test_output=errors tools/checktools:main_test
```
