This repository is for data analysis pipelines that are specific to astrophysical research projects like NASA's TESS, Kepler, and K2 missions, as well as Gaia DR3 (also see Gaia DR3 on Vizier), and other digital sky surveys. The only ongoing project is the pipeline for NASA's TESS mission's data. We will also be making corresponding UIs (i.e., will be a cross-platform executable file that can be downloaded from this repository, once it is finished). This pipeline is led by the Co-Principle Investigator, Dr. Derek Buzasi, from Florida Gulf Coast University. This project is a sub-project, from the Gyrochronology project led by Dr. Terry Oswalt, at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
- Analyze the postage stamps from NASA's TESS mission
- Remove the sky/background from the raw image
- Compares the background of the image with the stars and extracts masks
- Create reports with plots for the periods (with and w/o logarithmic horizontal axis)
- Extending current projects (future plans)
- In addition to rewriting the TESS pipeline, we plan on making a fully functional user interface (UI); either using something like Python or Java to create the GUI, that will be coupled with the pipeline itself. There are no specifics about the type or configuration of the UI, other than what we are going to make in correspondence with the new version of the pipeline
