Plans for Porting FUEL Planner to ROS 2?

Hi,

Are there any plans to port the FUEL planner to ROS 2? With ROS 2 becoming the standard for robotics, a ROS 2 version would greatly enhance its usability.
if not then, Could you provide any guidance or insights into challenges I might face?

I cannot respond on behalf of the authors, but I was able to run the demo for this project on Ubuntu 24.04 by using ROS-O which is the continuation of Noetic on more recent versions of Ubuntu: https://github.com/ros-o/ros-o

I also had to fix the lkh_tsp_solver issue, see #85

A port for ROS2 is of course more future proof, but if the problem is just running the software on modern machines, ROS-O works.
