Introduction to Linux

This repository generates the corresponding lesson website at https://ichec-learn.github.io/intro-to-linux/index.html. This lesson forms a 2-3 hour session introducing users to the concept of Linux/UNIX systems, and enabling them to learn and implement Linux commands in a terminal or terminal emulator on their own machines.

Access to a HPC cluster is not required for this lesson, however the setup of SSH keys will be covered, which is the first step in logging into a HPC.

The content of this lesson can be considered a prerequisite of the lesson covered in the repository, Introduction to HPC.

This is not an official Carpentries lesson, but has been developed under the guidance of a certified Carpentries Instructor. Please consult The Carpentries for official lessons in your area.

This course has been designed and developed as part of the National Service of the Irish Centre for High End Computing.
