We are pleased to announce the first official signed build of the PaymentX User App — a secure and campus-friendly contactless payment solution.

Core Features

  • Offline NFC Payments: Users can complete transactions using their ID cards without requiring internet access.
  • VIT Email Registration: Registration is limited to valid college email addresses.
  • ID Card Wallet Binding: Wallets are securely linked to each user’s physical ID card.
  • PIN-Protected Transactions: All transfers are secured with a user-defined PIN.
  • Merchant Wallet System: Merchants can receive payments, withdraw funds, and view transaction history.
  • Technology: Backend powered by Node.js and MongoDB, Android frontend developed in Kotlin.
  • Authentication: Firebase Authentication integration for secure login and signup.

Platform Compatibility

  • Supported: Android only
  • Not Supported: iOS, Real-money payment gateways (demo currency only)

Prerequisites

Ensure that NFC is enabled on your Android device before launching the app:

Go to Settings > Connected Devices > NFC and enable it.

The app requires NFC to detect ID cards for transactions.
