  The win10toast library, previously used for notifications, is primarily designed for Windows 10 and lacks full cross-platform compatibility with macOS and Linux. While it works somewhat with Windows 11 it is designed for Windows 10, it hasn't been actively maintained since 2018 on PyPI. I replaced win10toast with plyer, a newer and actively maintained library. Plyer is cross-platform, beginner-friendly, and already used in the Desktop Weather Notifier project within this repository, ensuring consistency across projects.
