PV Mode

Weishaupt PV Mode.

Weishaupt introduced a PV mode in the newer firmware versions (?V5.3? can anyone confirm?).

What does this PV-Mode?

  • It enables SGR "like" increased operation.... (As it can have different priority settings then SGR) thus using increased temperatures for warm water production (you can set the increase via modbus) and for building heating (where to set this??).
  • It tries to limit the electrical consumption of the heatpump to the Power available.

Enable PV-Mode at the heatpump:

  • At the heatpump open the fachmann/oem settings.
  • Enter 21 for OEM.
  • Scroll to Page 3
  • Select energy management
  • Select PV-Optimization
  • Set interface to ModbusTCP
  • You have to directly set the priority it in the Heat pump Manager under "Energymanagement" -> " PV Optimization"
  • That the base load can also be set there (with 1kW as default value)

Usage:

  • Set WH System Power with the PV Power generated
  • From this value the electrical base load is substracted ( 4kw PV Power - 1kw electrical base load = 3kw for the heatpump)
  • If you are able to measure your PV feed-in it might be better to set the electrical base load to zero and use the PV feed-in here.

Why should i do that?

With using the PV-Mode you can use PV-Power (0.07€ for me) to produce warm water. As this is at least 3 times cheaper than power from the net you can increase your warm water temperature (SGR increased operation). The goal should be to set every production in phases with PV excess. Of course this only makes sense when you can use your PV Production for your heatpump (you have no extra electricity meter for your heatpump or an advanced measuring concept like a electricity meter cascade.

Further usage

Some users use the PV-Mode to fine tune the heatpump operation. They are welcome to describe it here.

Sackleinen: I use it to limit the initial power spike at the start of the compressor, so it levels out more evenly
