"I build things, I break things and I fix things. Mostly in that order."
I'm an 18-year-old student with a programming background who's been gradually learning DevOps and networking. Right now I'm focused on understanding how infrastructure works, from the fiber line coming into a building all the way up to the services running on top of it.

Infrastructure & Tools
Cloud & Monitoring
- High Availability: trying to make systems that stay up when things go wrong
- DevOps networking on virtual infrastructure: VLANs, routing, and services on Proxmox
- Network design & deployment: building networks from scratch with proper architecture
- Ansible & Terraform: automating infrastructure instead of clicking through dashboards
Took full ownership of my home network β from the fiber line down to the wireless. Replaced the ISP-provided equipment with a custom OPNsense router and high-end access points. The result? A network so solid that phones drop their cellular connection as soon as they join it.
I'm working on a write-up about this for Dev.to.
Built a personal NAS on a Raspberry Pi 5 running a 3-2-1 backup strategy: two mirrored disks on the device, with everything synced nightly to a Hetzner Storage Box. Exposed securely to the internet via Cloudflare Zero Trust β browser access requires a specific email allowlist, while applications authenticate via service tokens.
- Earn the CCNA and CompTIA A+ certifications down the line
- Contribute to open source projects as my skills grow
When I'm not staring at a terminal, I'm flying drones :)
Always happy to connect with people building things. Feel free to reach out. filippo@sloppybits.uk
