Open VMC is an open-source ecosystem built around one idea: making Minecraft server management accessible, free, and enjoyable for everyone.

At its core sits the VMC Launcher — a cross-platform desktop application that lets you create, configure, and run Minecraft servers without touching a terminal. No manual Java installs, no config file archaeology, no plugin hunting across a dozen websites.

• Server Management : Create and manage multiple Minecraft servers from a single interface.

• Built-in File Editor : Edit server.properties, paper.yml, plugins configs and more — directly in the app.

• Plugin Marketplace : Browse and install plugins from Modrinth and Hangar without leaving the launcher.

• Cross-Platform : Native builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

• Managed Java : Java is handled automatically — no manual installation required.

• Open Source : Fully open source. Audit it, fork it, contribute to it.

Open VMC is more than a launcher. Three products are planned:

• VMC Launcher (available now in beta) — The desktop app to manage your servers locally

• VMC Network (coming soon) — A hosted network layer to connect and share servers

• VMC Editor (coming soon) — A dedicated editor for Minecraft server configuration files

The Free plan covers all core features — and always will. Optional paid plans (Pro, Pro+) are planned for advanced use cases like hosted servers and extended storage, but are not yet available.
