GSoC proposals for Open Astronomy

Welcome to the repository to submit your applications and discuss them with the mentors before the GSoC deadline.

Important

  • Proposals that have not been submitted and discussed in this repository won't be considered
  • The official submission is through GSoC platform, if it's not there too it won't be considered either.
  • Any suspicious of LLMs used without disclosing it will be considered spam, and therefore ignored.

How to apply

  1. Read our GSoC page and the various guides linked there.
  2. Find which project you'd like to work on from the list of proposed projects
  3. Create a draft of your proposal (the earlier, the better) on this repository
    • Fork the repository,
    • Clone your fork to your local machine,
    • Create a new branch for your proposal,
    • Copy the template into this year directory and name the file as: <suborg>-<project>-<your-name>.md (pay attention of not creating a file name with spaces),
    • Add content to your proposal and commit regularly,
    • Open a draft pull request to this repository and continue editing your proposal,
    • When you think it's ready, mark the PR as "Ready for review".
  4. If the PR is ready for review at least one week before Google's submission deadline we may add comments to it to help you to improve it.
  5. Create the submission on the GSoC platform and upload the PDF exported provided as a comment on your PR.

Acknowledgements

After years trying to use an open review process using the wiki and different platforms, we've followed the Neuroinformatics Unit approach and copied their process.
