PAESCAL task: visual analytics tools

Objective

Develop and maintain visual analytics tools to help speed up PAESCAL's development and evaluation of global and single-column atmospheric models.

Current work

• Identify and improve ParaView features that are most useful for analyzing EAM output
• Write a new reader for ParaView to support the bi-grid configuration starting in EAMv2 (which uses different horizontal meshes for the resolved dynamics and parameterized physics)
• Develop a customized ParaView User Interface (UI) for EAM using the trame framework
