Unless you know a PS2 game that runs at 3840x1600 they are referring to the monitors resolution.

And should this go in the patch name? Isn't it better to put it in the description?

Either is fine.

Well, someone told me that the name of the 16:9 patch should always be "Widescreen 16:9" for the system to recognize it. I don't know if in the future the names for other aspect ratios should be similar like "Widescreen 21:9" and in this way always maintain a solid format in the names of the widescreen patches.

They can be ultrawide now.

Does this mean it should be called "Ultrawide 21:9" or is there no rule for naming ultrawides?

Doesn't matter.

In the ideal world, the aspect ratio is more customisable and that gets reflected in the gsaspect ratio to be the correct value instead of stretch value.

So as long as the text mimic what it does is fine for now I would think.

For the sake of correctness however that's more a balance of do you want the patch to be there or do you want it to be correctly named for completeness sake which is more reaching philosophical reasons at the moment.

And the reason why most widescreen patches are 16:9 are because a lot of people only had that monitor aspect ratio or they want to mimic what such aspect ratio do, make a better than built-in or don't want to touch in-game settings, or port to game versions which don't have it.

So 21:9 were already rare to see let alone the even wider ones. As long as it's not a wide person meme when I see the patch and don't crash. So yeah it's not a big deal if it makes sense.

Alright, thanks, I'm sorry for asking but I assume that it's tested, can you provide some screenshots?

I just found out that the loading screen uses a different aspect ratio. How do I update the commit to include it?

Well normally you would just use fmv override aspect ratio. But in the patch, you should have more lines specifically for it if it's an FMV. There are others that do it like that.

I can't remember if there are more types of loading screens in the game but I am referring to this one:

Sorry I've been away. I'll add the extra codes when I get back (unless someone else is able to do it instead). I'll be back in 3 days otherwise.

But don't add it haphazardly; only if you've verified it's working properly. Otherwise, it's best to leave it as is.
