The new logic for Cyrillic symbol transliteration should be faster than the previous one, but I don't have a test device for benchmarking.

Looks promising, especially compared to the other one. Since I don't really listen to music containing cyrillic characters in metadata, have you been able to test it in operation for at least several hours of playback in your car?
I'll do some benchmarking later this week anyway, but as it stands there should be little to no impact on metadata without cyrillic.

I have spent less than 1 hour actively listening to music with Cyrillic metadata in the car. But I will have a long trip next Saturday and plan to test it for 4–6 hours. I’ll write feedback after the trip.

Over the past two days, I’ve driven more than 500 km and used the EHU32 for over 6 hours in total — there haven't been any issues during that entire time.
