Guidance

• Java Version

  # Enter jlox dir
  cd jlox
  
  # Compile jlox
  javac com/craftinginterpreters/lox/Lox.java
  
  # Run repl
  java com/craftinginterpreters/lox/Lox.java
  
  # Run file
  java com/craftinginterpreters/lox/Lox.java ../Test.lox
  
  # Clear compile output 
  rm -rf com/craftinginterpreters/lox/*.class 

• C Version

  # Enter clox dir
  cd clox
  
  # Generate makefile
  python -m gen_make
  
  # Compile clox
  make
  
  # Run repl 
  ./main
  
  # Run file
  ./main ../Test.lox
  
  # Clear compile output
  make clean

  Remember to add execution clearance to main with chmod +x main

Side Note

1. Support for comments: Both jlox and clox support // comments. While jlox supports nested /**/ comment style (meaning multiple /**/ pairs inside /**/), clox no longer supports it. A nested /**/ would be considered invalid in clox.
