Changes

• Added a new optional CLI parameter for pbstarphase build: --api-keys {JSON}. This provides API keys for external services used during database construction. Currently, this is used for PharmVar API authentication.
  • If --api-keys is not provided, PharmVar gene queries are skipped with a warning.
  • See the Database guide for the expected file format and how to obtain a PharmVar API key.
• Added a warning during pbstarphase build indicating that non-reference allele definitions without any alternate variants specified from CPIC are ignored.
• Released a new version of the database: data/v2.1.0/pbstarphase_20260324.json.gz
