Bug fixes and small improvements to slave emulator mode, including:

  • Fix scan for device mode not showing summary device responses
  • Fix comm port lockup due to short timeout in scan mode (scan now forces to 1s timeout)
  • Fix slave mode register addressing issues where user wants to use specific address ranges instead of starting at 0
  • Added word swap flag for individual slave registers so for data types > 1 register the word order is now configurable

Version 1.3 adds continuous requests with user set polling time interval, and a floating chart to display received data in the data type formats you specify. Ideal for monitoring a device for long periods, or stress testing a slave device with continuous requests. Some enhancements to the Write Multiple Register function to make manual entry of values quicker and easier.

This version adds Listen In mode when switching to RTU, connect to a serial bus with active master and slave devices to capture traffic. Captured data can be exported to CSV or copied to the clipboard for analysis later. Great for those hard to catch bugs!
Also in version 1.2 are minor enhancements to TCP slave mode, now when a master connects the master address is shown in the event log, and the LED changes to blue indicating a master has connected.

Lots of bug fixes and improved Slave device handling, the highlights:

  • Custom baud rates for non-standard devices
  • ASCII character handling as a data type
  • Better raw data visualisation

This software is still in early development so expect alot of bugs! Please feel free to raise an Issue if you find any, give me as much detail as you can and I will work towards a fix.
