Hey @KoalaSat

Sorry for the crazy delay. I will test this asap and get it rolled out to StartOS v0351 (the current version).

We are releasing StartOS v040 soon™, and it comes with a whole new lxc container system and new SDK. We're trying to package robosats for the new paradigm and have some questions. Would you be available to attend our packaging call to help us answer some questions on Monday, December 8th at 10AM Mountain Daylight Time? Or perhaps the next call on Thursday, December 11th at the same time? We meet every Monday and Thursday.

Hi! Sorry but for this month I'm terribly unavailable, maybe we can try to solve those questions on this thread?

No problem, I think we figured it out which resulted in this PR:
RoboSats/robosats#2312

socks4 won't be supported by StartOS v040, and socks5 has been supported by Tor since the beginning, and is the future since it will have IPv6 support as well as UDP (whenever that comes to Tor), so it seems like a good move anyway.

Yep, we've tested v0.8.2 and v0.8.3 now, which we'll fast forward to -- and as such I made a branch on our repo that pulled your v082 branch in and then added the 083 changes on top and I couldn't figure out how to just add a commit to this PR so here's the new proposed PR:
#42

Seems ready to merge and we tested it on StartOS v0351 without issue.
