A digital clock that uses the grid's 60 Hz output as a reference clock (work in progress)
Maintaining a region's energy grid is a herculean task that goes unnoticed for most of the time, except when there's a power outage. And part of this work involves keeping the gird's frequency on check within a very small margin of tolerance, or else everything goes bananas.
Before the invention of quartz movement clocks, there already were electric clocks that took advantage of this incredbly stable clock signal to reliably tell the time. This project aims to replicate this old, forgotten technique with just a little less old 4000 series ICs, because why not.
This project currently only supports 60 Hz frequency, but can be easily modified to support 50 Hz or even both a bit more logic and a switch.
