V1.4

Choose a tag to compare

The ability to use a custom contrast ratio has been added.

  • Custom ratio can be set when using an ICC profile and calibrating the gamma to any option
  • Contrast ratio is modified by lifting the black floor and condensing all lighter than black values towards 100% white.
  • Accuracy of contrast ratio is determined by accuracy of ICC profile: approaching native black floor is innacurate and should be disabled

Uses of custom contrast ratio:

  • Emulate the CR of different display types (given the CR is lower than your panel's native)
  • Evaluate your perceived CR when ambient light is hitting the monitor

Also allowed old config files from main branch to be used and upgraded.

Fork adds ability to Linearly Scale [Colour] Space (LSS) and merges fork from pcdlin (https://github.com/pcdlin/novideo_srgb) to retain offline monitor config settings.

Using LSS, given a monitor is capable, will push the R/G/B primaries a set percentage amount in the correct hue axis determined by the selected colorspace. This allows for higher saturation than the referenced colorspace whilst retaining hue accuracy.
Keyly, this fixes SRGB oranges shifting to red when using a wide gamut monitor whilst retaining higher saturation than stock SRGB.
