Summary
Motivation
I was trying to build my React Native project for Android and encountered an error stating that this code snippet using switch has a syntax that is not compatible with Java 11 or lower. I was only able to build it after manually modifying this piece of code. So I'm submitting this pull request to fix the issue and allow the library to be used without manual modifications.
