FASTQ files have gotten so big, we ran out of numbers, so increase the size of the variables.

Hi Andrew, was your work based on head (tag v1b), or tag v1? It would be great if you could see if your changes can be applied to v1, as that has the latest changes (see the History file).

It was applied to head (v1b). I'll take a look at v1.

So we use this as part of vr-codebase. The history notes the output has changed in v1, so we will stick with v1b as the base. Given how v1 isnt used, theres not much demand for me to spend time porting over and testing changes. Andrew

Ok, do you have any test script or test data you can share? If the test data necessarily has to be a huge file not suitable for the repository, can you email me the location of a file you tested with?

The bug only appears on large datasets. I'll email a lustre link to a 68 GBase mouse run.
