External Providers Link terminated search

I have to implement it in the places plugin. That is a library that can be used by other scripts to check certain features of the linked POIs.

I'm debating whether this is a good thing to do. Technically it's certainly possible. I can foresee a couple of issues, however:

• It's going to slow a scan down considerably. To validate a provider link, a web api call has to be made and the results of that evaluated.
• There are likely some limits in places on the web api. A WAL scan is likely going to result in thousands of those API calls and chances are we're going to hit limits. That either means missing some results or waiting even longer for the limits to be lifted.

I know WMEPH has this functionality but obviously doesn't work on as wide a scale as WAL. Thinking it might be the best option, though.

Thank you for your input, it sounds best to leave it off if it will eat more into the API count and don't want to slow down the scan time anymore.
