About cane

cane Multiphysics ("cane") is a framework for numerical simulations in engineering developed by Dr.-Ing. Andreas Apostolatos under a BSD license. cane is written in Matlab and acounts for the following type of numerical simulations,

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEM) for plates in membrane action
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEM) for the 2D and 3D incompressible Navier-Stokes fluid problem using the Variational Multiscale stabilization method (VMS)
  • Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) of plates in membrane action (2D) on on multipatches using Penalty, Lagrange Multipliers, Augmented Lagrange Multipliers and Nitsche-type methods for the constraint enforcement
  • Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) of membranes and Form-Finding analysis in 3D on multipatches using Penalty, Lagrange Multipliers, Augmented Lagrange Multipliers and Nitsche-type methods for the constraint enforcement
  • Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) of Kirchhoff-Love shells in 3D on multipatches using Penalty, Lagrange Multipliers and Augmented Lagrange Multipliers for the constraint enforcement
