Release v0.4.3
Primarily this contains a bug fix; apparently Slack increased the possible length of a user ID.
We also:
- upgrade Go to 1.19
- switch from vfsgen to embed
- disable CGO in builds
- update & tidy packages
Release v0.4.2
dev support; fix tabula_data collision; add rename command
v0.4.1 - Triune's Workflow Hotfix
fix a bug at the end of the align workflow; switch logger to logrus
v0.4 - Triune's Uploaded Consciousness
This release brings a deceptively simple change:
You can now add maps to mapbot by uploading them directly to mapbot via DM.
There's additionally been a great deal of internal work, which probably produces no benefit to you, my beloved users, but has doubtless introduced some bugs somewhere. Thank you for your patience while I shore up the infrastructure.
- Workflows have been refactored to be a little bit less opinionated but also a lot more straightforward. It should be even easier to implement new kinds of workflows now, if I ever think of them.
- Workflow messages now utilize Slack's Block Kit instead of Attachments. They may work better on mobile, and anyway should be more future proof, and more easily able to take advantage of new Block Kit functionality, if it becomes relevant.
- Build & release is now executed by github actions, which are pretty cool.
Lawful Neutral
This release adds "guided alignment". Mapbot can guide you through aligning a grid to your map, simply through clicking buttons on Slack messages.
Well Played
After using mapbot 'in anger' for about a month, many sharp edges have been rubbed off and many nice, new features have been added:
- Map marks
- Token sizes, labelled emoji token
- Workflow core (albeit no useful implementation of a workflow yet)
- Tightened up font rendering
And, of course, lots of bug fixes and performance improvements.
If you identify any bugs, please don't hesitate to report them. If you use mapbot, I'd love to hear about it!
I hope soon to provide a running version of mapbot that anyone can use, but this will cost money to run every month. If you're interested in mapbot and you might be willing to pay a very nominal amount of money to use it (strictly the cost of providing the service, probably less than a dollar or two a month), I'd be interested in hearing about it.
