Thanks for reporting this. I don’t know the root cause yet, so I’d like to gather a bit more information before I start investigating. Could you try the following:
A possible cause could be that you might be using Navet since the early releases. The dashboard architecture has changed significantly over time, and some older customizations may not migrate cleanly between versions. The current dashboard customization system is much more stable, and dashboard customizations should generally survive updates when using the newer customization flow. As a one-time troubleshooting step, I would recommend: Settings → Dashboard → Restart Onboarding Then:
The goal here is to rule out any legacy configuration issues from older Navet versions. If you’ve been using Navet for a long time, some older dashboard structures may not migrate perfectly as the architecture has evolved significantly over the past releases. After you’ve rebuilt the dashboard and saved a fresh configuration file, install the next update and see if the customizations remain intact. If the issue still occurs, let me know and I’ll investigate further, as that would indicate a bug in the current dashboard customization system rather than a migration issue from older configurations. |

Okay so I've taken the past week and worked on it, I have reloaded it, reset configuration inside navet, wiped my configuration and started over, but I cannot export or import it gives me errors. It's done that since the first time I installed it which who knows what number that was. Definitely in the very first stages. I just came home after I thought it stuck this morning and I had rebooted my AA server because of a update and it's back to the regular configuration. Most of the time I remove the status bar and put it in kiosk mode and that's what resets every time. |

If import or export is giving errors then your dashboard config is stale. This is a one time fix, before we start fixing this can you tell me if you are using Navet as standalone docker or add-on? |

It's an add-on, so I just completely deleted it and told it to also delete its data. I re-added it and lo and behold my configuration popped back up but not my finish one just the one I had a very long time ago that keeps resetting itself too |

I don't get an error, just I said it, I walk away, I come back later and it's discarded my changes |

Actually I noticed that I'm getting this error whenever I recycle the screen not certain why |

That explains, you get cached state when homeassistant goes offline. I will investigate this tonight. |

But it's not going offline, every time I switch off the Navet screen and back to it I see that error. |

What do you mean by switch navet screen? |

I enabled the sidebar icon, so when I go to a different dashboard and then come back, that's when I see that error |

I have reset, still holds settings.
I have reinstalled, cleared settings, data persists.
I uninstalled, cleared settings, then searched my ha installation for
navet, found nothing, reinstalled and data persists.

ok after 3 hours of being annoyed and asking claude to help me, i figured it out. I asked claude to write down how we did it, so here is that md file. |

Thank you for the feedback, i now understand what was happening. I will add a fix for this behaviour so it does not happen in the future. |

yes just checked it and settings have held so that's good. Need to check downstairs in a bit and see if it held its settings too. |

ok so its still not holding settings. When I set it to more space, hide top bar, and kiosk, all those settings refresh when it goes to screensaver. Also it keeps switching my camera feed to mjpeg from HLS |

Okay so your latest update is holding the kiosk and expanded settings, but
for some reason my cameras keep switching from set hls to mjpeg. When I
open the settings they say they are set hls but they are showing blank
mjpegs

There is already ways to make your dashboard into rows and columns with separate column title. Use sectioned bento grid in edit mode.

Indeed it just won't affect your first column, it always does after, unless

why is this happening? Am I alone in this? frustrating with the frequency of updates (whisch is awesome btw) that i need to be constantly resetting my customizations.
