The builds are failing in amplify due to missing dependencies, these changing allowed the build to deploy successfully.

We hit the same issue while upgrading from v1.1.1 to v1.3.0 (actually to the main branch of this repo). And the fix you mentioned here worked to overcome this issue. Thanks, but the root cause needs to be identified and fixed.
