Can you please add the SNS topic to the Resources section? If you did not use our CloudFormation template to create your public bucket, you can use this guidance (https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-opendata-samples/blob/main/guidances/adding-sns-topic-to-roda.md ) to add the SNS topic now You can optionally add a Browse Bucket link using AWS S3 Explorer: https://github.com/awslabs/aws-js-s3-explorer - this gives you a “Browse bucket” link where folks can view your dataset and walk the bucket right from their web browser. You can see an example with NOAA NEXRAD (https://registry.opendata.aws/noaa-nexrad/ ) and look for Browse Bucket. |

Hi @larsbuntemeyer , I'm the data scientist on the team and am reviewing your draft tutorial. This looks great, and I really like the presentation. We're only looking for one additional item before we consider the tutorial feature complete for the draft stage, and that is to include an unanswered research question or community challenge related to the data. The intent is for the data provider, who is expert in the data, to provide a jumping off point for users. This can be a question or project that you think will be instructive or have pedagogical value, or it can be an analysis or study on your wishlist—something you might pursue given different constraints. Thanks again for your work on this! |

Thanks you both! @cstner Thanks for the resources, i used the templates for the setup of the original EURO-CORDEX bucket, but that was already sometime ago. But I'll stick to the example in the docs section to set it up. I'll also add the browser bucket link (looks great to use in the browser)! @pschmied Yes, i had a look at the template notebook. Right now, i added our code and plots we use for the original evaluation of the dataset and the goal is to switch from the local catalouge to the catalouge that references the S3 bucket to guarantee full reproducibilty. Beyond that, i have in mind the community challenge (that's a nice idea) from the template. I have something simliar in mind in regard to our CMIP5 era datasets (maybe a challenge to compare). |
