Next it hangs somehow loading the image data itself, I guess it would be best to debug this together ... maybe there is nothing we can do to speed this up |

@tpietzsch the first optimization we could do is to add a class such as this (or similar) since in most cases all attributes are actually the same. Activating this state would need to be a property of the imageloader I guess.
There are some synchronized statements missing, it's about the idea ...
