BlockPress logo
BlockPress logo was designed by Anton Channing and Dana Varahi. It is inspired by prehistoric Rockart and it resembles a dancing figure with a spiral for its head.
Inspiration and meaning
Prehistoric Rock art is considered to be one of the earliest forms of graphic communication. A spiral is a universal symbol present in all ancient cultures. It first appeared in late Paleolithic Era. It's meaning isn't exactly understood. For us, it has a lot to do with imagination, abstract thinking and creativity.
One meaning behind the logo is that of creative genius wanting to express itself, be it through visions carved into a rock by an ancient shaman or through an online piece written by a modern technologist.
The logo is given texture by adding a photograph layer of a waterfall. Water is symbolic of life and wealth and its flow is supposed to bring a good fortune. It's the most precious resource we have.
