User Stories

Bloom should try to target technical professionals who are very knowledgeable, but perhaps not in Linux or sysadmin. A game developer is incredibly talented, but the OS shouldn't assume they know apt-get second nature. Same thing with a designer. This is partially why macOS is so popular among software professionals.

Users & Developers:

  • Robust wiki to get out of Linux googling hellhole.
  • Path to Bloom compatibility on wiki for Electron devs, Flutter devs, etc. Easy things they can do to integrate better into the system.

Workloads we can initially support:

  • Frontend Developers
  • Screenwriters
  • Machine learning devs
  • Infra / DevOps
  • Productivity people who don't need much more than an iPad Pro
  • Android devs
  • Designers!

Workflows we can't support and why:

  • iOS devs for obvious reasons
  • Professional video editing
    • No HDR support
    • No Wayland color profiles
    • Drivers are a mess for NVIDIA
    • Applications that work reliably aren't pro level
