Agreed this is better, but it's too out of date now, so re-implemented as cd707cb Yeah if we decide to migrate in the future it would be a pain but I feel this is reasonable. |

Let's use a 16 bit prefix for UIDs for now so we don't need to track billions of individual sequences. Could totally change this in the future too if we decide it's not a great fit but the migration story may be annoying.
