v1.4 with functionality updates
Tags functionality
To enhance memorability and streamline the learning process, we have introduced Frequency of Usage tags aimed at improving the overall user experience.
Adding a tag: addt
Flash cards can be marked with tags, basedon the frequency of usage for the respective words they encapsulate.
Format: addt INDEX tg/TAG
Example:
addt 1 tg/Rarewill add theRaretag to the flashcard at index 1
| Adding a tag | ![]() |
|---|---|
| After addition | ![]() |
Notes:
-
We've expanded our tagging system to include a broader range of categories, each reflecting the frequency and context of word usage.
Now, you can categorize your flashcards with any of the following tags:*Essentials: For words that are fundamental and frequently used in everyday communication.
*Uncommon: For words that are less frequently used but offer depth to language comprehension.
*Rare: For words that are seldom used but crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the language.
*Slang: For informal or colloquial terms commonly used in spoken language. -
We understand that language is wonderfully complex and diverse. To capture this in our flashcards, we've updated our system to allow
for multiple tags on a single flashcard. Now, you can label words with more than one tag, like 'Uncommon' and 'Slang,' painting a fuller
picture of how and where they're used. This enhancement enriches your learning experience by providing deeper insights into the
versatility and real-world application of words.UncommonandSlang -
User may get the following error while trying to add an invalid tag:
Tags names should be either of Essentials, Uncommon, Rare,Slang
Editing a tag: editTag
The added tags to each of the flash cards can be edited as well, according to the user's preferences.
Format: editTag INDEX ot/ORIGINAL_TAG rt/REPLACEMENT_TAG
| Editing a tag | ![]() |
|---|---|
| After edits | ![]() |
Notes:
- When assigning tags to flashcards, please ensure that the chosen tags align with our predefined categories: 'Essentials', 'Uncommon',
'Rare', and 'Slang'. This adherence guarantees a consistent and effective categorization aligned with our language learning framework.
Deleting a tag: delTag
Tags added to a flashcard can be deleted as well.
Format: delTag INDEX tg/TAG_TO_BE_DELETED
Example: delTag 2 tg/Essentials
| Before deleting a tag | ![]() |
|---|---|
| After deletion | ![]() |
Understanding learning statistics: stats
Dive deeper into your language learning journey with our improved stats command.
Now, not only can you track your progress, but you can also visually comprehend the extent of your learning. The command unveils a detailed pie chart, illustrating the percentage of words you've successfully retained.
This visual representation, highlighting the number of words you've mastered, offers an engaging and intuitive way to grasp your learning achievements.
