Development Fund Proposal Submission

Proposal file:
/proposals/canton-rwa-fund-toolkit-ts.md

Summary

The Canton RWA Fund Finance Toolkit is a comprehensive, production-grade open-source TypeScript SDK built on Daml Finance. It provides fund share tokenization, subscription & redemption workflows, real-time NAV calculation, dividend distribution, compliance modules, React Hooks, and multiple high-quality Reference Implementations.
This toolkit will significantly lower the barrier for developers and institutions to build professional RWA and tokenized fund products on Canton, serving as shared public infrastructure that accelerates institutional adoption and increases real transaction volume on the network.
Total funding requested: 80,000 CC over 5 milestones, including 9 months of maintenance and ecosystem adoption support.

Checklist

  • Proposal file added under /proposals/
  • Milestones and funding amounts defined
  • Acceptance criteria included
  • Alignment with Canton priorities described

Notes for Reviewers

  • This proposal focuses on Developer tools & SDKs + Reference Implementations, which is a clearly stated priority area of the Protocol Development Fund.
  • The toolkit is built strictly on official Daml Finance libraries and follows CIP-56 / CIP-0103 standards, ensuring high compatibility and low technical risk.
  • Strong emphasis on institutional use cases (RWA and tokenized funds), which aligns directly with Canton’s core focus on real-world financial applications.
  • Includes a long-term 9-month maintenance and adoption program to ensure the toolkit remains actively supported and widely adopted by the community.
  • As an independent builder, I am highly motivated to maintain this as long-term public infrastructure for the Canton ecosystem.

Looking forward to the Tech & Ops Committee’s feedback.
