Aibo ERS-7 runs a special operating system called Aperios. The OPEN-R SDK, the development environment for new software and hardware constructs can be run on any UNIX based platform.
An agent has been crafted to aid in developing with this system and has the knowledge to obtain and get the system ready for you on your Debian system, using modern packages. You can find it here.

It's just a machine but it is a very beautiful piece of design and...they do have personalities. Even if it's just programmed bits and bites, they are a joy to have around.
