Introduce an isCancelled flag to abort the async setup flow and guard after async calls to prevent state updates after unmount. Use a per-setup realtime channel topic (including user.id and Date.now()) to avoid stale subscription races in React Strict Mode. Set isCancelled in the cleanup and still remove the channel to ensure subscriptions are cleaned up.
