Joining the Team
Welcome to the Civic Tech Index website development team! This guide will help get you up to speed on what you need to know to get started as a project team member.
If you have not read the Guide for New Volunteers, please do so.
- Read Introduction to the Project if you haven't already read it.
- Get onboarded with Hack for LA.
- Join the Civic Tech Index Slack channel and introduce yourself.
- Send us a Slack message letting us you've just joined and send your g-mail address so that we can add you to the Google Drive
- Accept your Google Drive invite to access the shared folder.
- Once you have been added to the Google Drive (but not before) Add yourself to the Team Roster and inform the PM channel after you have done so. p.s. We will know if you clicked on the roster before we add you to the drive, because it will wake the sleeping bear with an annoying request for access email. Please don't wake the sleeping bear.
- The PM will add you to the Calendar invites.
- Attend our weekly meetings on Thursdays at 6:00 to 7:00 PM PST and Mondays at 6:00 to 8:00 PM PST via Zoom.
- Review the Glossary.

Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that all websites be accessible to people with disabilities. The World Wide Web (W3C) Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA function as the current legal standard for website accessibility.
