patch function to allow for soft_fail argument
- initial version with hardcoded paths
- sumw works now for shifts - error fix when indexing histogram in plotting

in this PR the workflow for creating histograms used with the iterative fit method is implemented
i will keep it as a draft for now, to validate the histograms, but feedback is welcome already
