As a Customer Success Engineer, you will help our customers get the most out of our platform. Supporting marketers and developers means being creative, approaching problems from different angles, and empowering them.
A significant part of the role involves investigating implementation issues, identifying their root causes, and communicating technical findings clearly to customers and internal teams.
This challenge has two parts.
This is a website where a customer is integrating Croct, along with this project containing its source code.
Below are a few scenarios describing technical issues they run into. Investigate each issue, identify its root cause, explain your findings, and describe how you would resolve it. Answer as if you were replying directly to the customer.
You can assume the account, slot, and component are correctly configured in Croct. The issue is in the implementation itself.
The customer reports that the Hero section on their website is not displaying the content configured in the slot. Check the integration, identify the cause, and explain how the customer should resolve it.
The customer has implemented a slot in the Features section. The cards, tagline, and description update correctly, but the title doesn't reflect the defined slot content. Check the integration, identify the cause, and explain how the customer should resolve it.
The customer implemented a slot in the How It Works section, but noticed it shows Portuguese content instead of English. Check the integration, identify the cause, and explain how the customer should resolve it.
Below are a few questions customers commonly ask about the platform. Choose three and answer them as if you were replying directly to the customer, including suggestions on what they should do next.
-
"Our personalized content sometimes shows up a second after the rest of the page loads, and on the very first load visitors see the generic version. Is that expected, or is it a bug?"
-
"We pre-build our product pages ahead of time to make the site load faster, but now the personalized banner always shows the exact same content to every visitor, no matter who's browsing. Any idea why that's happening?"
-
"One of our devs added a refresh button to reload the banner on a page, but even after we changed the targeting rules, clicking it doesn't seem to pull the updated content. Do you know what could be causing that?"
-
"We've been running a test for two days, and the dashboard already shows a 90% chance that variant B is winning, but it's still a pretty small number of people. Can we trust that number, or is it too early?"
-
"We translated the campaign banner into US English (en-US) and UK English (en-GB) to reflect the language differences between the two countries. Now, a visitor from the UK browsing the website is seeing the US version. Shouldn't they see the UK version?"
-
"I'm reviewing the results of my A/B test and noticed something strange. The overall dashboard shows conversions for both
orderPlacedandcheckoutStarted, but I'm not seeing any conversions for these events in my test results. Our main website is hosted on one domain, while the checkout is hosted on a subdomain. What could be causing this discrepancy?"
