This rule detects attempts to exploit the Astro broken access control vulnerability (CVE-2025-64525) by monitoring for suspicious values in the
x-forwarded-protoHTTP header. The attack relies on injecting a full URL (e.g.,http://...) into this header to manipulate backend URL construction, potentially bypassing middleware protections and enabling SSRF or other attacks.x-forwarded-protoheader using theHEADERSzone and thevariablesfield.containsmatch type is used to look for the substringhttp://(lowercased for normalization) in the header value, as this is the key indicator of a crafted, potentially malicious value.lowercasetransform ensures case-insensitive matching.Validation checklist:
value:fields are lowercase.transformincludeslowercase.match.valuecontains capital letters.containsinstead ofregexwhere applicable.
