Time delyaed charging and release status

Hi colleagues,

I'm using sometime time delayed charging. After clickig in the HA integration on the authorize_charging control the charging is released but charging does not run immediatelly just because the car does not request charging now (car will do that some hours later to get 100% SoC at a certain time in the next morning). Using the authorize_charging control in a dashboard gives an unclear state as the control does not have a state "pressed" and there is also no sensor "authorization_granted" or similar. Would be nice to have that.

This overlaps with #200, which asks for the same information from the other side — which tag or user authorized the session.

The "Authorized by" sensor being prepared there covers your case too: it shows the token that authorized the session, or "HA/Zaptec App" when authorized remotely, and reads Unknown when nothing is authorized. Combined with the charger mode sensor, that distinguishes "authorized, waiting for the car" from "charging":

Implemented locally. Will test on my next charging session to confirm behavior.

Does that cover what you had in mind, or were you expecting a dedicated binary sensor for it?

Hi RHammen,
with the new sensor _authorized_by and the new state for _charger_mode it should be possible to create a helper which reflects resp. distinguishes the correct state. As my car does not need charging right now, I can not test that immediatelly.
As far as I remember, after clicking on the _authorize_charging button the visible state does not change in the dashboard in case of delayed charging. See attached
