Root-caused the current failure. The Render step dies in LuaLaTeX on chapters/parametric-survival-models.qmd:

Use of \v doesn't match its definition.
l.1610 ...tackrel{\text{def}}{=}{\lambda}(t \mid \v0

latex-macros/macros.qmd writes \def\v0{...} (line 68) and \def\v1{...} (line 375). TeX has no multi-token macro names, so those define \v with a delimited parameter matching a literal digit, and line 375 wins — which breaks \v0 (and \v{x}) while leaving \v1 working by accident.

• Repo-side fix: fix(parametric-survival): use \vzero instead of \v0 so the PDF compiles #1159 (switches the five \v0 uses to \vzero, which expands identically and is unaffected).
• Upstream macros defect: \def\v0 and \def\v1 define delimited-parameter versions of \v, breaking \v0 and \v{x} macros#86

Root cause was in the latex-macros submodule: \def\v0{...} and \def\v1{...} are not macro names in TeX — each redefines \v with a delimited digit parameter, and the later one won, so \v0 no longer matched. Fixed here by switching the five \v0 uses to \vzero (#1159, merged as 374aa6429); the root cause is fixed upstream in d-morrison/macros#87.

Verification — run 34397974153 on main at 374aa6429, every step success, including the three that never ran before:
