Using Nightly Builds

MartyPC can sometimes go a long time without official releases.

If you're feeling adventurous, but not quite up to the challenge of compiling MartyPC from source, you can try a nightly build from one of the GitHub Actions workflows.

Important

You must be signed in to your GitHub account to be able to download artifacts. Sorry, this is out of my control.

Automatic builds are available for Windows 10+, Windows 7*, Linux, and Mac*

Warning

(*)Support for these platforms is limited. If it works, great! If not, let me know, but I can't guarantee any quick fixes.

To access these builds, go to the Actions tab (or click here.)

There will be multiple copies of each action run, one for each target. The target name is given below the run name:

"Windows" is the Windows 10/11 build. "Windows 7" is an experimental Windows 7 only build.

Click on the title of the run you wish to use.

To get a ZIP of the build, click the artifact link you see under "Artifacts". It doesn't look like a ZIP, but it is. image

Important

If the link isn't clickable, you're not signed in!

Unzip it wherever you want, and run MartyPC!

If you run into any issues, let me know in Issues, but be aware that these nightly builds are not guaranteed to be free of bugs and issues as development progresses, although I try not to leave the main branch in an unusable state.

Most notably, the format and even the location of configuration files may change at any time between builds.
